Skin Care (Dermatology) Treatments

They say the skin – your body’s biggest and most visible organ - is a reflection of your health. Poor skin can mar your appearance while some stubborn skin conditions can even have a debilitating effect on your personal and professional life. Dermatology is a medical specialty that addresses problems of the skin (also hair, nails and scalp). Its sub-specialties include pediatric dermatology, cosmetic dermatology and surgical/laser dermatology.

Some of the common skin disorders include fungal infections, warts, acne, sold sores and hand dermatitis. Acne treatment, botox procedures, facial peeling and dermabrasion are typically performed at offices of skin specialists, while advanced dermatology treatments are typically targeted at skin cancers, varicose veins and rosacea. Typically, diagnosis (biopsy) is followed by surgical or medical skin care treatment. The best dermatologist is one who not only offers effective remedy for disorders but also constantly adapts to meet changing dermatology challenges and keeps scaling up the level of service.
