Americans Would Rather Travel Than Pay High Costs

Affordable, quality care apparently trumps the commitment to travel. Approximately 50 million uninsured Americans are choosing medical tourism rather than pay for medical care in the US.

Embryo Freezing

Embryo Freezing or “Embryo Cryopreservation” is the process of storing embryos or fertilized eggs in sub-zero temperatures. Embryos between the fertilization and the blastocyst stages; that is, before implantation, can be stored using this method. Thousands of embryo transfers are done annually around the world. This procedure generally accompanies IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) treatments where extra embryos and eggs are frozen for future use. Patients can use these embryos if IVF cycles fail or for the next pregnancy.

Liquid nitrogen is used to freeze the embryos and they are then stored in computerized storage units which have the best back-up technologies. The two types of embryo freezing are – slow programmable freezing and vitrification. Embryos stored this way can last for years.
