Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

Endoscopic sinus surgery is also known as “Sinoscopy” and is mainly used to remove blockages in the sinuses. Blockages can cause many conditions like Sinusitis, which leads to acute pain and difficulty in breathing. This procedure removes or relieves symptoms of Sinusitis, nasal polyps, sinus infections, tumors and septal deviations. Blockages in the sinus can often cause loss of smell and taste and this medical procedure often restores these senses.

This surgery is devised to improve nasal airflow and drainage of the sinuses. ENT surgeons use nasal endoscopes to enter the sinus via the nostrils eliminating the need to cut through skin. The risk of trauma to healthy tissue and skin, and scarring is very less during this minimally invasive surgery. Consequently, the recovery time of patients is shortened considerably.
