Health Check Up

Many medical associations suggest a periodic health checkup once every five years for adults above the age of 18 and once every year for those above 40. Those under constant medication need to attend a health check up more frequently.

A periodic health check up aims at preventing any chronic disorders, identifying any factors that could lead to chronic diseases and secondary prevention of diseases. These are the diseases which do not exhibit visible symptoms. A regular health check is very important especially if you are over 40 years of age. A health check is not vital to below 40 years as most of the diseases that require secondary prevention are not common for this age group.
