Americans Would Rather Travel Than Pay High Costs

Affordable, quality care apparently trumps the commitment to travel. Approximately 50 million uninsured Americans are choosing medical tourism rather than pay for medical care in the US.

Artificial Intraocular Lens Implantation

Artificial Intraocular Lens Implantation is used to correct eyesight disorders. In this procedure, the crystalline lens of the eye is removed and replaced with an artificial lens and it is most commonly used to treat cataract patients. Artificial lens implantation is also used to change the optical power of the eye to treat Myopia, Astigmatism, Hyperopia, etc.

Foldable lenses are now available that can be easily inserted into the eye in suture-less refractive and cataract surgeries. Phakic intraocular lenses are used in refractive surgeries and they are placed over the existing eye lens to change optical power. Complete replacement of the natural eye lens with artificial plastic lenses or Lensectomy is done on cataract patients. These types of surgeries are the most commonly performed surgeries around the world.
