Medical Tourists Rest Assured with Mtqua

Medical Travel Quality Alliance (MTQUA) has launched the very first system of assessment that judges medical centres in 10 key areas directly affecting a health tourist’s well-being.

Cryosurgery (Cryotherapy)

When extreme cold is applied to treat diseased or abnormal tissue, such a procedure is called cryosurgery. Freezing temperatures cause ice crystals to form inside cells, leading to their destruction. Cryosurgery can be used only against localized diseases. Some methods of cryotherapy use carbon dioxide, liquid nitrogen and argon to treat conditions.

Several skin conditions such as moles, warts, solar keratoses, skin tags, small skin cancers, etc can be successfully treated by cryosurgery. Cryrotherapy is also a medical solution for internal disorders such as cancers of the liver, lung, prostate, cervical disorders and hemorrhoids. The benefits of cryotherapy are - it is minimally invasive, causes less scarring, and is not a very painful procedure. It is also a relatively inexpensive medical procedure. However as with other surgical procedures or therapies there are risks involved. One such risk is damage to surrounding tissues and nerves.
