ANOC Neuroscience and Orthopaedic Centre Introduction


ANOC Neuroscience and Orthopaedic Centre is a centre of excellence cum referral centre for the diagnosis and outpatient treatment of neuromedical, neurosurgical and orthopaedic diseases.

Located at the 2nd Floor of the East Wing of Menara Bandaraya Development Berhad (BRDB), the clinic is centrally located in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. It is in the affluent suburb of Bangsar. ANOC is easily accessible by residents of Kuala Lumpur and the satellite town of Petaling Jaya. The building is the annexe block behind the renowned Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC), a newly renovated shopping centre in Kuala Lumpur with many specialty shops. A separate lobby entrance and driveway leads directly to Menara BRDB. Ample parking is available at the basement. Valet parking is available for patient’s convenience.

Designed and conceptualized by the specialist doctors themselves, the clinic offers a comfortable, secure and ergonomically safe environment for patients to have a private consultation with a specialist. 

The centre is equipped with imaging facilities including the latest 1.5T Magnetic Resonance Imaging( MRI) scan, capable of doing total body MRI and detailed scan of the brain and spinal cord. The iDXA scan is a machine that provides an objective marker for osteoporosis. General radiology services are provided.

ANOC has advanced neurodiagnostic equipment capable of doing a variety of neurodiagnostic tests. These include electroencephalography (EEG) with video telemetry, evoked response studies, nerve conduction studies (NCS), electromyography (EMG) and ambulatory polysomnography (sleep study). 

The clinic is staffed by experienced and established consultant neurologists, neurosurgeons, orthopaedic surgeons and a rheumatologist. The clinic is supported by nurses, neurophysiology technician, radiographers and other anxillary staff.

The centre has a fully equipped pharmacy and facilities for rehabilitation with in-house physiotherapy. 

The centre functions as a one stop, tertiary referral clinic for the diagnosis and outpatient treatment of neurological, neurosurgical and orthopaedic diseases including spine disorders. Patients who require inpatient treatment will be admitted to the respective hospitals in which the doctors also work. This will include Gleneagles Intan Medical Centre, Pantai Medical Centre, Sunway Medical Centre, Assunta Hospital, Sime Darby Medical Centre and Beacon International Specialist Centre. 

The centre offers facility for Botulinum toxin Injection for focal dystonias such as hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, cervical (neck) dystonia, excessive salivation, spasticity and chronic headache.

Stroke risk assessment and prevention clinic are available in ANOC. With advanced neuroimaging facility without radiation, imaging of the brain and the intricate blood supply allows the clinician to give an accurate risk assessment for future risk of stroke. 

ANOC strives to provide patients with an accurate and early diagnosis and management of diseases of the brain and bone. It also aims at possible prevention through early consultations and public education for neurological, neurosurgical and orthopedic diseases.
