Malaysia a Mecca for Medical Tourists!

Drawing most of its patients from the rapidly developing economies of India, China and Indonesia, Malaysia’s health tourism increased by 15% in 2013.

Romania Medical Tourism

Europe’s 12th biggest country, Romania is set where South Eastern and Central Europe meet, and is surrounded by Bulgaria, Republic of Moldova, Hungary, Ukraine, and Serbia. Romania is replete with thermal and mineral springs and has over one-third of the natural springs that are found all over Europe. Romania's first stint at medical tourism can be rooted back to many decades ago, when foreigners would visit the country to undergo one or more of the natural therapies that were practiced here. The natural therapy treatments offered in the country's medical spas ranged from thermal water and mineral baths to mud therapy or asthma therapy held in the natural salt based caves, which continue to be practiced with the same vigor to this day. These treatments have been known to treat disorders in the kidney, liver, heart, stomach, respiratory organs, endocrine system, and various nervous, metabolism, gynecological and nutrition disorders.

With its medical tourism industry gathering pace, Romania has burgeoned into a medical tourism hub for overseas visitors, especially those from Germany, the UK, France, Israel and Italy. Medical procedures offered here are reasonably priced, and are leveling up with leading healthcare providers in other European countries in terms of quality. In 2013, more than 20,000 medical tourists visited Romania with the purpose of seeking quality and affordable healthcare services.
