The Government of Canada does not require international patients seeking medical tourism procedures in the country to acquire a medical visa. It has a general visa procedure that students, temporary workers and regular tourists are expected to undertake. All foreigners traveling to the country are required to go through a medical examination performed by medical institutions that are recognized the by Canadian Federal Government. Individuals traveling to Canada, who expect to stay within the country for a period greater than six months, he/she will have to undergo medical examination. The medical examination must be conducted by a physician, hospital or clinic that is recognized by the Canadian government, otherwise the visa will not be issued.
